Frequently Asked Questions

Please reach us at Marinelandingchiropractic@gmail.com if you cannot find an answer to your question.

Your first visit at Marine Landing Chiropractic is focused on understanding you fully before any treatment begins.

We’ll review your health history, discuss your current symptoms, and perform a detailed physical assessment that may include posture analysis, range of motion testing, orthopedic tests, and neurological screening. If appropriate, we will begin gentle treatment on the first visit.

My goal is not just to reduce pain, but to understand why it’s happening and create a personalized care plan that supports long-term results.

Most patients describe chiropractic care as relieving rather than painful.

Some techniques involve gentle joint movements, while others use low-force methods. If you’re nervous about adjustments, that’s completely okay. We’ll move at a pace that feels comfortable for you.

Mild soreness can occur after treatment, similar to how you might feel after starting a new workout, but it typically resolves within 24–48 hours.

Yes, when clinically appropriate. However, neck adjustments are never rushed or forced.

There are multiple techniques available, including gentle mobilization methods that do not involve traditional “cracking.” If you have concerns, we will discuss them first. Your comfort and safety always come first.

The number of sessions varies depending on the type of condition, how long it has been present, and your overall health.

Acute injuries may resolve in fewer visits, while chronic conditions such as sciatica, disc injuries, or long-standing neck pain may require a more structured treatment plan.

At your first appointment, we’ll outline realistic expectations so you understand the timeline and goals.

At Marine Landing Chiropractic in South Vancouver, I commonly treat:

  • Low back pain
  • Neck pain
  • Sciatica
  • Herniated and bulging discs
  • Headaches and migraines
  • Postural strain
  • Pregnancy-related pelvic pain
  • Sports injuries

Each treatment plan is tailored to the individual. My focus is restoring mobility, reducing inflammation, and improving function so you can move confidently again.

Yes. Chiropractic care is considered safe and beneficial during pregnancy when performed by a trained provider.

As your body changes, the added stress on the pelvis and spine can lead to discomfort. Gentle chiropractic techniques help support pelvic balance, reduce low back and hip pain, and improve overall mobility.

Care is always modified specifically for pregnancy.

The Webster Technique is a specialized chiropractic approach used during pregnancy to help improve pelvic balance and reduce tension in surrounding ligaments.

It is not a technique to “turn” babies. Instead, it focuses on optimizing pelvic alignment, which may reduce discomfort and support a more balanced uterine environment.

I am trained in the Webster Technique and incorporate it when clinically appropriate.

Spinal Decompression Therapy is a non-surgical, traction-based treatment designed to relieve pressure on spinal discs.

It is often recommended for conditions such as herniated discs, sciatica, chronic neck pain, or degenerative disc issues. The therapy gently stretches the spine using a specialized table to create negative pressure within the disc.

This can help reduce nerve irritation and support healing without surgery or injections.

Yes. We provide direct billing for ICBC injury claims and many extended health providers, including Pacific Blue Cross, Sun Life, Canada Life, and Manulife.

If you’ve been involved in a motor vehicle accident in British Columbia, we can guide you through the ICBC process and help manage the necessary documentation.
